Utopia
(No Date. Written during college.)Utopia cannot be reached. (Any semblance of it is false, and if it ever seems to be completely reached it would probably be an illusion.) Ideologies that seek it will inevitably create totalitarian governments. The reason "heaven on earth" can never be achieved, simply, is that there are too many heavens to fit this earth. Making a consensus of heavens, in an attempt to solve this problem, will not create an ideal, but often the attempt itself is enough to satisfy a multitude. This is precisely why an American definition of Democracy is so appealing.
